Manufactured Housing Ordinance hits opposition from residences

What is so important in Mohave County Arizona you ask? The county board there is trying to pass an ordinance that would restrict the placement of Manufactured Homes in the county that are older than 7 years!

The county is trying to move the regulation that it currently has that has a restriction of any home built after June 15 1976, the date in which HUD started regulating the construction of Manufactured Housing. \
The board passed the motion 5-0 and the local residents are looking to have the motion repealed. A resident in Mohave county would have to prove the age as 7 years old or newer and display HUD label on the unit prior to receiving a Building permit from the county to install the home.

The board is trying to regulate what? There are numerous home older than 7 year years old that look amazing and homes that are 2 years old that are uninhabitable.

If the objective is to maintain values and aesthetics than regulate the upkeep of properties regardless of construction good grief the HOA's in Arizona have figured that out. The battle of quality housing in counties rages on!
